Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha deploys Lemur™ integration to SAP Work Manager to capture accurate leak location information.
Critigen, the global leader in unifying GIS and SAP data, and Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha (M.U.D.) today announced the deployment of Lemur integrating into SAP Work Manager in support of M.U.D.’s water main replacement program. The program seeks to reduce costs associated with water main breaks by up to 20%.
Lemur has already provided field crews reliable access to engineering and location information for two years. Its offline capability has been essential in emergencies, and cellular network dead zones, and has reduced cellular data costs. This new deployment of Lemur adds capability, ease-of-use, and enhances M.U.D.’s ability to ensure geo-spatial data is collected prior to work order closure.
“Integrating Lemur into our technician’s Work Manager app gives us a fully-connected workflow from the assignment of work through geospatial tasks and on to work order completion,” said Raied Stanley, Metropolitan Utilities District Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer. “Because we will get more accurate and consistent data so much faster directly from the field, M.U.D. will now have the ability to make strategic investments in main replacements that will reduce the overall maintenance cost of our distribution system.”
Critigen is delivering Lemur Pro Embedded inside SAP Work Manager on iOS. This integration allows for integrated workflows between GIS and SAP that are natural and intuitive to field workers. Field workers open the Lemur screen in Work Manager with standard integrated navigation, can view Work Orders and other SAP objects on the GIS, and can initiate the creation of SAP objects from the Lemur map.
Lemur provides fast, reliable offline GIS visualization and sketch, redline, and edit capabilities for field workers that aren’t GIS experts. Lemur reduces field crew training costs and drives adoption with a “zero-training simple” design and in-app cues.
In conjunction with the deployment of the integrated main break solution, M.U.D. is also expanding its licensing for Lemur to cover mobile and Windows desktop use by virtually all M.U.D. employees.
